The Anti-climax

EXT/INT. - BUS - DAY

A crowded metropolitan bus is shown where you see people from different classes travelling together. From working professionals to the homeless nomads, we see them under the same roof with many differences among them. In this cluster of people, we see two traditionally dressed middle aged women seated.

Rohini:
I told you that Raghavan will certainly be a killer right. You have got to listen to me once in a while Anandhi. See he did not even hesitate to kill his own son knowing that he was a transgender.

Anandhi:
You were right! He seemed to be an innocent chap. What he did truly shocked me. How could Aparna be so naive and think that her husband was right doing that vicious act?

Rohini:
People nowadays are not that open-minded. They protest about the LGBTQ community and still repulse the other genders coming near them. People should start changing pretty soon.

Anandhi:
At least Raghavan is almost there in finding that he is the killer. I am just waiting to see what unfold in the next coming episode.

Rohini nods at her as she is agreeing to her and then she looks out of the window to see the busy roads of mount road. Anandhi notices some disturbance behind them. Turning she sees two Transgenders entering the bus and the people next to them squirming uncomfortably. They go to each seat and ask for money.

Anandhi:
This is what tarnishes their names with the public. Why beg and harass people for money?

Rohini:
What can they do? People do not give them the respect they need. So they go and demand it. Its the society that we have to blame.

Anandhi:
How are you so progressive towards everything? You are very impressive and inspiring. I should be more like you.

Rohini:
There is nothing about me that is inspiring. This is the way of life now. People have to shift towards that.

One transgender is now near Anandhi and Rohini and Rohini gives her 20 rupees. She blesses her and moves from that place. Anandhi looks slightly surprised and Rohini mimes her to calm down.

INT - APARTMENT ELEVATOR - DAY

They both enter and lifts and the door closes and Rohini presses the 7 buttons. The lift sets to motion.

Anandhi:
Akka, what will you do if your son also has the qualities of transgender? Will you be ok with that too?

Rohini:
Definitely. What will he do for that? It is all-natural and everything is natures scheme. No one can change that.

Anandhi:
I will certainly freak out if my son comes to me and opens up like that. Maybe I am very conservative with my thought.

Rohini:
There will certainly be a time when you will certainly change your perspective on these thoughts. The time will certainly come.

The elevator bell sounds and the door opens.

INT - STUDIO APARTMENT - DAY

Both Anandhi and Rohini enter Rohini’s apartment and they see two boys sitting on the couch. They both get up hesitantly seeing both Anandhi and Rohini.

Rohini:
Arav, did you guys have fun? Did you give Sathya anything to eat?

Anandhi and Rohini remove their slippers and move towards the dining table to place their bags and turn around to them.

Anandhi:
Sathya? what's wrong? Why are you both dumbstruck?

Sathya meddles with his fingers and then is gulping too many times which causes suspicion with Anandhi. She looks at him sharply.

Rohini:
what is it with you guys? Why are you acting weird?

Arav:
Mom I need to open up about something to you ma.

Rohini:
Yes?

Arav:
Ma, I am gay. I and Sathya are in a relationship.

Rohini and Anandhi both look at each other flabbergasted and they both are without any words.
